This FREE event promises to be a timely, exciting and engaging glimpse into building the future of our region, bringing together local government leaders and chief executives to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of our places, communities and wider public services.

What to expect:
The programme will feature high-profile speakers from across the public and voluntary sectors, bringing expert insights and practical discussion on some of the most significant issues facing local government and the communities we serve, including:

  • The evolving role of Combined and Strategic Authorities.
  • The future of Housing and Place Delivery across the East.
  • Delivering successful Local Government Reorganisation and Devolution.
  • Building new teams and organisational cultures. Brand, Brand Narrative* and Culture.
  • Economic growth, investment, and regional priorities.
  • Peer discussion and networking with colleagues from across the region.

*Subject to any announcements following the review of most recent LGR decisions, this session may be replaced by community cohesion and public order.

The event will officially close at 15:30. There will be an opportunity for informal networking from 15:30 to 17:00 for anyone who wishes to remain and connect with fellow attendees.

Venue information

The event will be taking place at The Nucleus, Chesterford Research Park. Upon arrival at the venue, please proceed to the registration desk to collect your conference badge.

Travelling to the venue:

  • Car: A free car park is available on site. On arrival at the venue, you will need to approach the barriers in the right-hand lane where you will be greeted by a member of the security team. A member of the security team will check you off the attendee list and direct you through. The Nucleus building is the first building on your right
  • Rail: Trains from Cambridge operate approximately every 30 minutes during the morning and evening commutes and at hourly intervals during the rest of the day. The journey time by rail from Cambridge to Great Chesterford is under 20 minutes. Central London is one hour away with trains running regularly from both Audley End and Great Chesterford stations. Please note Audley End and Great Chesterford Station are not within walking distance, therefore for taxi assistance you will need to pre-book before the day with Park Cars on 07746 808296 (you are encouraged to book taxi’s as early as possible to avoid them not having any availability).
  • Car sharing: If you are willing to share your journey with a fellow attendee, please register your journey to the event on the Suffolk car sharing website here: https://liftshare.com/uk/community/suffolk
