Friends, Families and Travellers

Friends, Families and Travellers is a leading national charity that works to end racism and discrimination against Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people and to protect the right to pursue a nomadic way of life. We support individuals and families with the issues that matter most to them, at the same time as working to transform systems and institutions to address the root causes of inequalities faced by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people. With over 25 years’ experience of working with individuals from Gypsy, Traveller and nomadic communities, our Gypsy and Traveller inclusive services training will suit the needs of your organisation.

Professional Experience, Highlights and Distinctions:

After our training you will:

  • Have a better understanding of the diversity within Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities as well as cultures, traditions and histories;
  • Have better understanding of the barriers which Gypsy, Roma, Traveller and nomadic people face when accessing public services across health, as well as an improved knowledge on how to support people through these barriers;
  • Be equipped with information to provide more inclusive services to Gypsy, Roma, Traveller and nomadic people.
  • This training session focussed on inclusive services will provide information on what to take into account when working with Gypsy and Traveller families, while covering the rich histories and diverse cultures to provide context.
  • This training will equip you with the tools needed to make your organisation and services more accessible for Gypsies and Travellers.
