Andrew is currently the Autism Lead for NHS England, London Region, a role that he jobs shares 3 days/week. On other days, Andrew is available to deliver training as a sole trader. Previously, he was the statutory Autism Lead for Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. He was a background in Personalisation and is a Public Champion for Personalised Care with NHS England, London Region.
Andrew is autistic himself, and offers bespoke training on autism and related topics. He has a particular interest in autism and mental health and has typically delivered training on Autism Acceptance and Adapting Practice. He has teaching qualifications and over 25 years’ experience as both teacher and trainer.
Professional Experience, Highlights and Distinctions:
- Andrew was diagnosed with autism at age 40, having previously experienced mental health issues throughout his life.
- He has trained well over a thousand people from all walks of life, including local authorities, third and private sectors, and NHS staff. Trainees have included people from IAPT (Talking Therapy services), mental health practitioners, and directors/seniors managers in NHS England.
- He has been a regular speaker at conferences, and is an approved contractor with the National Autistic Society.
- Andrew’s feedback is always positive and trainees find him an engaging speaker.
