Sarah Weiss is a founding member of the Interlink team and has progressed through the organisation in a range of roles over more than 30 years. She supports organisations with policy customisation, health and safety, and safeguarding advice, and has long-standing experience in building links between the Charedi community and statutory sector partners.
Since 2006, Sarah has facilitated a Maternity Services meeting with links into the statutory sector, and she remains closely involved in public health issues, advising on effective reach and engagement with the Charedi community. She attends health initiatives on a wide range of topics, often as the sole Charedi voice, including The London Million Hearts and Minds programme and the development of a MatNeo PREM for national implementation. Sarah is also a Health Champion under the Haringey Health Champion Programme for the Charedi community.
Earlier in her career, Sarah taught in local Charedi schools and has served for many years as a governor at a local Charedi voluntary aided school. Her voluntary experience includes coordinating a club for young adults with special needs, undertaking hospital visits over many years, and serving three terms as a publicly elected governor at Homerton University Hospital. She also oversaw the formation of, and now chairs, the Charedi Women’s Health Alliance, an Interlink project focused on addressing health inequalities, improving health literacy and recognising the impact of the digital divide.
