Transport East Appoints New Strategic Director

Published on 5 May 2020

Andrew joins Transport East following five years as Strategy and Planning Manager at Transport for London where he led on London’s cycling and walking strategies. Prior to this, Andrew was Team Leader for Transport Policy and Growth at Hertfordshire County Council.

Transport East is a dynamic transport partnership driven forward by local authorities across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Southend and Thurrock, alongside New Anglia and South East LEPs, Highways Agency, Network Rail, Chambers of Commerce and the UK’s Innovation Corridor.

As one of seven recognised Sub-national Transport Bodies across England, Transport East’s role is to act as a single voice for its members’ transport priorities, working closely with neighbouring STBs – including England’s Economic Heartland – and the government to deliver transport investment in our region.

Following the success of the Transport East Summit in February, the partnership will take forward a targeted work programme to develop and promote our shared transport strategy at a national level, accelerate our transport investment priorities, and make the case for greater investment in our transport priorities.

The next Transport East Forum will be in July, where members will discuss the findings of the Transport East de-carbonisation study, implications of the COVID-19 crisis, and other evidence, and subsequently kickstart a programme of engagement and technical work to complete our Transport Strategy.
