Local Government has found its funding reduced significantly since 2010, and while there has been renewed investment in local authorities since the pandemic, our funding in real terms still remains lower than it was before 2010. This, combined with increases in demand pressures from social housing, homelessness and SEND pressures, has put local authorities in an increasingly precarious position. We therefore advocate on behalf of our members the need for a stronger local government sector in order to deliver a growing, inclusive, East of England.
