Early careers
Be future ready!
At Local Government East, we recognise the vital role early careers pathways play in building a resilient and future-ready local government workforce. Our Employer Services team is here to help our member councils develop and enhance their early careers strategies.
We offer comprehensive support in:
- Apprenticeships
- T level industry placements
- Work experience
- Graduate schemes
- Internships
- Schools engagement
- Early careers networks
- And more…
We are proud to work closely with key partners to ensure we best position our early careers workforce, and we lead on key communications campaigns to amplify and showcase the fantastic work our councils are doing to support early careers pathways.
Local Government Apprentice of the Year
We also host the Local Government Apprentice of the Year event, delivered in partnership with South West Councils and the Local Government Association. This flagship, national event celebrates apprentices’ achievements and inspires others to consider early careers in local government.
