Chief Executive appraisals
An appraisal process should be a valuable tool which provides an honest and objective assessment of the impact and effectiveness of a Chief Executive. Whilst also identifying and enabling support and development needs to be identified and considered. A core element is to present timely and balanced feedback on how they are doing help them understand and meet expectations.
Under the terms of the JNC agreement for Chief Executives, it is an obligation for both the Chief Executive and the employing council to engage in a regular process of appraisal.
What we offer:
LGE can provide support for the appraisal process from the outset, assisting with the initial discussion and process through to the appraisal meeting itself. We currently offer three package levels to meet your needs:
- Bronze package starts with an initial discussion with Chief Executive to agree process and support required. Gathering and collating feedback on the Chief Executive’s performance from up to 3 elected members (including the Leader). Facilitated appraisal meeting including target setting
- Silver package with an option for up to 5 additional appraisers (this might include additional elected members or direct reports/stakeholders)
- Gold package plus 360 appraisal option for up to 6 additional appraisers Development plan for enhanced performance of the Chief Executive
