Employability for Overseas Nationals (EON)

Supporting overseas nationals into sustainable employment

We offer personalised support from an employment adviser to help you fulfil your potential

This includes:

  • CV preparation, cover letters, assistance with applications and interview practice.
  • Specialist employment adviser for graduates and professional careers, including high skills job search course and mentoring.
  • Assistance to restart a medical career, including referrals for medical support worker and clinical attachment roles.
  • Courses to prepare you for IELTS exams.
  • Courses to help you with living in the UK.
  • Help with driving theory including an online self-study course.

Am I eligible?

You have to be a resident in one of the following counties/districts in the East of England:

  • Essex
  • Suffolk
  • Cambridge City
  • East Cambridgeshire
  • East Hertfordshire
  • Luton

With one of the following status:

  • Hong Kong BN(O)s
  • Ukrainian Guests
  • VPRS/VCRS
  • Former UASC now over 18 (with permission to work)
  • Asylum seekers (with permission to work)

 

Eligible clients will receive comprehensive employment advice from a specialist, experienced adviser. The employment adviser will work with each individual to help them find vacancies in line with their previous experience, qualifications and career goals.

They will also provide support once a client has found work. This may include completing references and right to work checks, understanding contracts and facilitating conversations with superiors.

The employment advisers are able to work with clients who have a wide range of career goals. If we are not the right programme for you, we will refer you to the best scheme.
