Let’s Employ Refugees Event on 16 May 2023

Published on 19 May 2023

We delivered our 3rd ‘Let’s Employ Refugees’ training event on 16 May, it was well attended by 37 employers from a range of different industries, all keen to understand the barriers faced by refugees when seeking employment and exploring how they can offer better access for employment and match talent to jobs.

The feedback we got was amazing, ‘Your event provided valuable insights and perspectives that have further deepened my understanding of this complex issue. I truly believe that initiatives like yours play a vital role in creating positive change and empowering refugees to thrive in their new communities.’

Our Employer Liaison Officer, Ferzana Kusair will continue the engagement with employers to support refugees with the right opportunities, to help to reduce inequalities within the recruitment process and further provide stability within their lives in the UK.

Any employers who weren’t able to attend and need access to resources to assist with recruiting from the refugee community should follow this link for resources from our sister organisation in Yorkshire: The time is now: How to bridge the gap between refugees and employers | Migration Yorkshire
