Have you tried the new East of England Local Government Marketplace yet?

“Made by the Sector for the Sector”, the East of England Local Government Marketplace (marketplace.eelga.gov.uk) was created for the benefit of EELGA’s 50 member authorities and officially launched in July 2019. The Marketplace is an on-line service for members to purchase skills and services without the need to go through a lengthy procurement processes.

In its first full month of being live the Marketplace is already delivering the expected benefit. Marketplace has generated two quite diverse projects; Brentwood Borough Council have contracted Concertus (a Partner organisation) to deliver a £50k+ Housing and Landscaping project, whilst Norfolk County Council has engaged Talent Bank Associate, Gill Graves from Iridium HR, to deliver an in-house ILM5 coaching programme.

Gill is just one of 70 Associates listed on the Marketplace who can be purchased through our Talent Bank. These are highly experienced specialist professionals who can provide knowledge and expertise to assist local authorities in becoming the best that they can be for their communities. From Organisational Development to Transformation, Procurement to Asset Management and Housing to Planning and Public Relations, the breadth of services available through the Talent Bank is phenomenal.

The Marketplace enables trading companies and traded services, either owned by or part of a local authority in the East of England (known as “Partners”) to advertise their services and trade with other local authorities in the region. Currently there are 6 Marketplace Partners offering expertise in Environmental Services, Planning, Property, Recruitment, Training and Apprenticeships, with an expectation that more will be signing up shortly.

Through the experience and sector knowledge of Partners and Associates the Marketplace also offers a range of support Packages. These are products that can be purchased either off-the-shelf or customised to meet your individual needs. From training for a new Councillor or employee to a complete service review, choose from over 70 packages that have already delivered results for other organisations.
