Water management is a crucial piece of the puzzle when it comes to the continued flourishing of the East of England. Homes need to be built and businesses need to drive forward with investment. However, there are considerable issues around water capacity in the East. It’s not just water supply – wastewater capacity is also running low, and this could lead to considerable issues within the region if ignored.
In this Water Futures Event, we will look at how we can better manage wastewater in the East of England. This could be through the planning system, through planned infrastructure development in the region, or even through effective management of our river courses.
Agenda to follow shortly.
The event will be run in partnership with national water regulators through the Regulatory Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development (RAPID), consisting of partners including the Environment Agency, Ofwat and the Clean Drinking Water Inspectorate.
It is part of a wider programme of events that we will be running to support sustained collaboration to help drive resilience, economic growth and environmental recovery in the East of England.
Audience: The event is aimed at senior planners, sustainability leads, locality teams, community groups, and portfolio holders for water management and infrastructure.
