Building on successful events held recently in the East of England on collaboration for water security, Local Government East (LGE) is hosting a virtual event on water management in the East of England, with this event focussing on the partnership working required to effectively manage water across the region.
With climate change leading to increasingly erratic weather and water behaviour, it is more important than ever to build resilience into the system, and enable local knowledge and understanding to influence policymaking. Therefore, in this event, we will give local bodies a chance to outline how they have successfully engaged with each other and local communities to protect their communities from flooding and water scarcity, and promote high water quality in their area.
The event will be run in partnership with national water regulators through the Regulatory Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development (RAPID), consisting of partners including the Environment Agency, Ofwat and the Clean Drinking Water Inspectorate
It is part of a wider programme of events that we will be running to support sustained collaboration to help drive resilience, economic growth and environmental recovery in the East of England.
An agenda will be forthcoming.
Audience: The event is aimed at senior planners, sustainability leads, locality teams, community groups, and portfolio holders for water management and infrastructure
