Supporting Migrant Families in Maternity Care – Free Introduction Session

Migrant families often face additional challenges when accessing maternity care — from language barriers and cultural differences to legal restrictions and financial pressures.

Join Sylwia Grzenkowicz and Anna Rutkowska for a free 1-hour introductory session on to explore why culturally aligned maternity care matters and to preview our in-depth training designed for healthcare professionals.

In this session, you will learn practical strategies to:

  • Identify and understand systemic barriers migrant families experience

  • Communicate clearly and confidently across cultures

  • Build trust, safety, and continuity of care

This training directly supports the aims of the NHS 10-Year Plan by strengthening the quality, safety, and equity of maternity care for some of the most underserved families.

The Plan places a strong focus on reducing health inequalities, improving maternity outcomes, and building a more skilled, culturally competent workforce. By equipping healthcare professionals with practical tools to understand systemic barriers, communicate effectively across cultures, and build trust with migrant families, this training helps ensure that maternity services are more accessible, person-centred, and preventative in approach.

In a time when the NHS is under increasing pressure, developing these skills not only improves outcomes for migrant parents and babies, but also supports a more efficient and resilient healthcare system aligned with national priorities for the next decade.
