LGE Roundtable Discussion: Getting ready for the Social Housing Inspection

  • Virtual Event – Microsoft Teams
  • 08th May 2025, 10:00 - 12:30
  • Entry Fees: Free

Local Government East is running a series of free roundtable discussions in 2025 and 2026. These sessions are open to all councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the roundtable, you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have an opportunity to learn from, and share your own examples of, best practice, opportunities, and challenges.

Since 1 April 2024, local councils that own and manage social housing have been subject to new consumer standards and inspections by the Regulator of Social Housing. These inspections are one of the key changes resulting from the landmark Social Housing Regulation Act as part of a continuing effort to drive up standards within the social housing sector. Local councils and housing associations with over 1,000 homes are now subject to inspection every four years.

The aim of this LGE Roundtable is to support local councils in readiness for a social housing inspection. Attendees will:

  • Develop an understanding of the new social housing inspection framework.
  • Explore lessons learned from councils who have undergone an inspection.
  • Share tools and support to help meet the requirements of the new standards to improve homes and services.

Who should attend:

  • Directors of Housing & Portfolio Holders for Housing from local councils in the East of England. This Roundtable is primarily aimed at councils who own and manage social housing. It may also be of interest to non-stock holding councils and housing associations in the region.

Agenda and speakers to follow shortly.

Please note: if this session is oversubscribed places will be limited to 2 – 3 people per authority.

This event is sponsored by Made Tech. We combine deep public sector expertise with a mission to transform housing services.
