Local Government East ‘Make a Difference, Work For Your Local Council’ summer session

  • Virtual – Microsoft Teams
  • 17th July 2025, 09:30 - 11:00
  • Entry Fees: Free

We are pleased to invite you to the East of England regional event for the ‘Make a Difference, Work for Your Local Council’ campaign, hosted by Local Government East (LGE) and the Local Government Association (LGA).

Building on the first national roll-out in 2024-25, the campaign will be rolled out again in 2025-26 and funded by UK Government. The aim of this virtual event is to enable councils to help shape the upcoming campaign, including:

  • Discussing the roles that you feel should be highlighted in the campaign
  • Understanding the media channels that you feel should be targeted
  • Updating the campaign toolkit, and discussing how councils can utilise the materials to support their local recruitment

This session is designed to be interactive, with plenty of opportunities for participants to contribute and share ideas.

What to expect:

  • Insight into the refreshed 2025–26 campaign plans from the LGA
  • A chance to share your council’s recruitment priorities and challenges
  • Space to shape the national campaign’s messaging, role focus, and channel strategy
  • Practical discussion on using the campaign toolkit locally

Who is this conference for:

HR professionals from our member Councils across the East of England, including:

  • Heads of HR
  • Recruitment leads and professionals involved in attraction and resourcing
  • HR/OD colleagues with responsibility for recruitment strategy or delivery

Further information, including the agenda for the session, will be shared closer to the time.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact emma.grant@localgoveasteng.gov.uk or makeadifference@local.gov.uk

We hope to see you there!
