LGE Roundtable Discussion: Navigating the Local Government Reorganisation Journey and Adult Social Care

  • Virtual Event – Microsoft Teams
  • 11th September 2025, 10:00 - 11:30
  • Entry Fees: Free

Local Government East has been running a series of roundtable discussions over the last few years, and this programme continues into 2025/26. These sessions are open to all councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the LGE roundtable, you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have an opportunity to learn from, and share your own examples of, best practice, opportunities, and challenges.

By the time of this roundtable, the new geography of the East of England will be clear, and work will have started to build the new shadow authorities that will take over all local government services within the East. Adult social care remains one of the single largest pressures on local government, and therefore it’s position post-reorganisation will be crucial.

Within this roundtable, we will give local authorities a chance to discuss how they have planned their transition to a unitary authority with regards to adult social care. It will be an open forum, where officers and portfolio holders can share their ideas, swap tips, and help one another all work towards the goal of a safe, legal and effective local authority come vesting day.

Agenda and speakers to follow shortly.

Who should attend: Leaders, Chief Executives, Directors and Portfolio Holders for Social Care, as well as interested Senior Officers and Councillors in the East of England.

Please note: if this session is oversubscribed places will be limited to 2 – 3 people per authority.

If you have any queries please contact Matthew Stewart, Policy and Programmes Manager, Local Government East, email; matt.stewart@localgoveasteng.gov.uk
