The East of England LGA is running a series of free roundtable discussions in 2025 and 2026. These sessions are open to all councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the EELGA roundtable, you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have an opportunity to learn from, and share your own examples of, best practice, opportunities, and challenges.

The Planning and Infrastructure Bill was announced in the King’s speech in July 2024 and the Government is expected to present the Bill in March. The Government intends for the Bill to play a key role in unlocking more housing and infrastructure to deliver the government’s ambition for sustainable economic growth across the country.

This EELGA roundtable is an early opportunity to learn about the key policy changes and explore the implications and opportunities for local government and regional partners in the East of England.  EELGA will be seeking to gather views from local councils to help shape a regional response to the Bill.

Please note: if this session is oversubscribed places will be limited to 2 – 3 people per authority.

If you have any queries please contact Matthew Stewart, Policy and Programmes Manager, East of England LGA, email; matt.stewart@eelga.gov.uk
