EELGA delighted to appoint new Chief Executive

Published on 27 October 2023

EELGA are delighted to announce the appointment of Cairistine Foster-Cannan to the post of Chief Executive starting February 26.

Cairistine has a wealth of experience in housing and local government and is looking forward to taking up the mantle left by Professor Cheryl Davenport who left in September 2023.

Cairistine said: “I am delighted to have been appointed and am looking forward to working with the team at EELGA to continue the valuable work to support local authorities in the region to work collaboratively with each other and partners, and to act as the conduit to represent the regional voice to central government.”

Cllr Matthew Hicks, Chair of EELGA said: “Cairistine has the confidence of the Management Committee to work with the members, staff and partners to take EELGA forward and support local authorities to be the best that they can be for their people, places and communities.”
