East of England Local Government Marketplace Continues to Expand

East of England Local Government Marketplace Continues to Expand

The East of England Local Government Marketplace is becoming the “go to” place for promoting and selling the services of the East of England LGA’s member Councils and their trading companies. In the last month, three new partners have joined the Marketplace and their skills really compliment the existing offerings and expand the support that is now available to our members.

IGS – Information Governance Support (Essex County Council)

IGS take the complex world of information governance and provide simple solutions. They excel at the practical application of information governance, embedding compliance in a meaningful way and are skilled at providing support in a safe and trusting environment.

IGS offer a range of services to support compliance with information law, including Data Protection Officer (DPO) Service including an Annual compliance audit, Comprehensive framework for compliance, advice and guidance helpdesk, Access to eLearning, ICO complaint handling and Subject Access Request completion.

Lauri Almond, IGS manager, sat on national implementation groups for the new legislation and spoke at the ICO Data Protection Practitioners Conference to assist Local Authorities in preparing for GDPR. In addition, she also spoke at the Local Government Associations conferences around the country aimed at preparing Local Authorities for GDPR and the Department for Education GDPR Conference to assist schools.

Norse Group (Norfolk County Council)

The Norse Group is a national company headquartered in Norwich offering a wide range of facilities management, care and property consultancy services primarily to the public sector.

They offer multidisciplinary services in Architecture, Building Services Engineering, Surveying, Construction Procurement, Geotechnical, Civil and Structural Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Planning consultancy, Quality Surveying and Cost Management, Sustainable Design. Business Planning, Capital Programme Development, Commercialisation, Estates Management, Housing Development, Interim Capacity and Resilience Resource, LATCs and Public Partnerships.

They have specific expertise in “One Public Estate” (OPE) projects including Programme and Project Management, Public Sector Governance, Strategic Asset Management, Strategic Planning and Transformation.

David Bailey (Fenland District Council)

David Bailey has over 30 years’ experience in local government and the public sector. He has knowledge and experience of gypsy site development and management, equality & diversity, social inclusion with a particular focus on gypsy and traveller issues, community cohesion and integration policies and development, grant funding and planning enforcement as it relates to the Gypsy Traveller issues.

David has worked for a range of organisations including the Commission for Racial Equality, Equality & Human Rights Commission, Joseph Rowntree Trust, Local Government Association – task force on Gypsy Traveller issues and Chartered Institute of Housing – facilitator on Gypsy Site Management Diploma training courses. He is available to other authorities to provide advice, support, mentoring and staff training on all aspects of working with gypsy and traveller communities.
