The East of England LGA released the Contracts Database (Regional Contracts Database (eelga.gov.uk)) in 2010 to provide a free platform for regional public sector services to publicise contracts and tenders locally within their region.
Over 11 years, the platform has benefited many of our member organisations but has recently seen a significant downturn in usage. This has been due to the ease of access to a similar national portal (Contracts Finder – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)) and some regions developing in-house systems to increase overall transparency.
As technology evolves, so does the East of England LGA. Given the availability of other modern external alternatives, the East of England LGA Contracts Database is now outdated and redundant. Therefore, we have decided to close down the contracts database with effect from 31.03.2022.
Should any member authority have internal policies or web links directing consumers to our database, please review and update your systems to ensure compliance with local authority transparency regulations.
