James is a certified Business Psychologist with over 20 years of learning and development experience. Starting in military service as an officer in charge of an operational frontline unit, James had exposure to leadership at an early age in his career, which led him to leading high-altitude expeditions for a commercial expeditionary company, becoming their key leadership instructor. After completing an undergraduate degree in Economics, he then gained commercial experience in a technology start-up as a Sales and Marketing manager, where he built new global markets for his company in the marine, defence and energy sectors. James then realised that his vocation was in developing people, so after briefly working in secondary and further education, gaining management experience as a head of academic department, James then learnt his management development trade by working for a talent management consultancy. Having completed a master’s degree in Organisational Behaviour as well as a coaching diploma, James then set up Elias Consulting Ltd. He has worked in 38 countries, at every level of management up to the board room.

It was a pleasure working with James – he designed and delivered two learning and development workshops (in 2021 and 2023) on Creative Problem-Solving skills to a group of under-graduate and post-graduate students at LSE LIFE (LSE’s centre for academic, personal, and professional development).  I found that he paid strong attention to understanding the students’ needs and expectations before designing the workshop itself which resulted in a well-designed and meticulously prepared workshop.  James received very good feedback from the students who attended the workshops: for the content itself, including the well-designed slides and the working booklet; but also for his interactive and engaging delivery.
